Copper has been used in Indian households for centuries to store and drink water, backed by Ayurveda's concept of Tamra Jal, which is believed to support digestion and immunity. Indian Art Villa's copper and brass products are crafted for everyday kitchen and dining use.
A. Yes, all our copperware is made from pure, food-grade copper with no harmful coatings or lead content. Each piece is handcrafted by skilled thathera artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. This ensures both purity and durability for daily use.
A. Clean copper and brass items with an IAV cleaning powder, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Natural tarnishing over time is normal and doesn't affect safety — it's a sign of genuine, uncoated metal. Avoid harsh detergents or dishwashers, as these can damage the natural finish.
A. Water should ideally be stored in a copper vessel for at least 6–8 hours, or overnight, to allow the metal's natural properties to infuse into the water. Copper vessels are best suited for room-temperature or lukewarm water; very hot water isn't recommended, as prolonged heat exposure can affect the metal's surface over time.
